Tbh i think a modernized version of this, done by the right visionary, would go hard. Obviously wouldnt be as corny or weird and the first one, but i think focusing more on the physiological questions like what it means to be human, and what centuries does to someone who finally learns to feal emotion, could be a hit.

Jon, you have no idea how much I love this movie. This is my all-time-every-time favorite film. I was born in the mid-90's, so aside from 9/11, this movie is literally my next first memory. I've always felt that this movie prepared me for the moral and existential crisis that life is. Bicentennial Man taught me that the greatest virtue a human can possess is love and compassion. From then on, I've been living a great and varied life feeling like an extended member of the Martin family. I do everything I can for the people I love, and I would like to be remembered by love fondly much in the same way Andrew cared about in the end. This video was truly a feast for my brain in that way, been a fan of yours since early high school.

My only critique is at 12:09 you imply a creepy budding romance between little miss and Andrew, but it was completely one sided as little miss was just asking for advice in that scene and forgot about it altogether thereafter (her unwillingness to break societal rules). It was not until Andrew returned home after ~half-dozen decades seeking out another NDR like him, he meets her adult granddaughter Portia, and it's basically strangers meeting for the fist time. They even hated each other for a spat after that. Andrew realizes (with Rupert's help) he loves her based off of some very common epiphanies anyone has when they realize they're attracted. After talking more, he finds that she's nothing like Little Miss who was universally sweet and nurturing toward Andrew (Portia is abrasive, defensive, and argumentative), they both love art and history (it's literally her job), and that they're both fiercely independent.

At the time of their first kiss, Rupert and Andrew aptly settled on the appearance of a 42-year old for Andrew, and Portia was somewhere in her early-to-mid 30's. But if you still want to rag on the movie without watching it then yes, it is technically true Andrew was over 100 years old chronologically when he and Portia share their first kiss. You could say another quality they realized they share which helped them fall in love was their willingness to break societal rules, what with her breaking off an engagement to pursue a romantic relationship with what was seen as a machine at the time.

Anyways, release the Epstein files, free Palestine Lebanon Cuba Congo Sudan & Iran, and thank you for all of your love for life Jon. I can't wait for more!
