This is the video I recommend to my friends in recovery for their mental health struggles. I've never had anyone tell me that relapses happen and it doesn't mean you're failing, or that it's okay to get rid of stressors instead of willpowering through it. I think a lot of people really need to hear it.

I've been to group therapy for other stuff, and I had never expected how much it would matter and change my way of thinking. I've done other forms of therapy, but group therapy was really effective. As an introvert with loads of social anxiety I really didn't want to, so I pressured myself, and it pays off every day. Thank you for sharing your experience, and making it easier for your followers to accept themselves and get therapy – if they need it.

Thanks Girl, mental health is a subject I wish was more open WAY back in the day, and that people had more resources to help them out sooner.

I hope you are doing okay I suffered from an eating disorder when I was a teenager i was anorexic at times I starved myself because i had no control over my life at the time I felt so lost and broken I also was self harming myself by hitting and cutting on myself it took me years to stop doing that to myself and there are times I still struggle with it

I was super hooked on prescription pills for the longest time, it resulted in a DUI and I hated myself for a long time. It took a lot of time and work to forgive myself. Edit: Thanks for this vid. It helped. Also, are you an '86 baby too?

I completely sympathize with your experience as I have experienced something very similar. I have always struggled with my weight and had a number of people point out this flaw. It wasn’t until I realized that I REALLY don’t care what other people think of me that I was able to overcome these issues. Naturally I still try to keep my weight in control, but I have absolutely no interest in altering my body for any jackass who has a problem with my weight. Granted, it’s important to remain healthy, but you are beautiful no matter what anyone says. There’s more to the human experience than simply focusing on your body image or what other people think of you. 👍

Man looks at the body, but God looks at the soul…🎑 One day at a time. Thank you for your work.

While I have not experienced an eating disorder you make great points about removing temptation entirely and eating the same thing for breakfast. Before gym closures wrecked my regimen I was exercising daily while eating not just the same break-fast (I was doing intermittent fasting too) of Greek yogurt + toasted coconut + berries every day I ate almost the same two meals and snacks every day. I am a creature of variety and exploration but somehow I didn’t get tired of it. Limiting my options (I was low carb) made it so easy to stick to the path.
It was like walking by the junk food aisles while shopping. Picking one thing > walking up to the shelf before walking away > walking by the aisle, pausing, saying “no” out loud before continuing on > walking by and briefly turning my head toward the aisle without breaking stride > doing the same but glancing for a half second without turning my head. I need to get back to that.

I don't have BDD, but I have OCD, so I knew this and the prior video were going to be like catching up with horrible family members. I'm in my 25th year or so of having OCD, plus I think I have had generalized anxiety disorder for my entire life.
I'm really glad you brought up CBT…it is not fun, but it can be so amazingly helpful and freeing and just effing awesome when you realize you are making progress. You frequently mention the movie Misery, and you may be interested to know that I worked that into a CBT exercise. I'll try to be brief…I had been noticing that I was becoming more and more impacted and afraid of gory/painful stories, images, etc. It could cause panic attacks and fainting. Sooooo…I decided to force myself to encounter something gory and feel those feelings. So I have seen the hobbling scene from Misery over 100 times…that is not hyperbole.
If you've seen the movie, you know the scene…and if you don't know CBT you may be thinking "why would you ever want to see something like that so many times?!?!" Well, I was very committed and wanted to get to a spot where I could watch it and just be bored, and I got there; so now I am much less afraid that I will see something that will scare me and I'll never ever be able to forget it and it will always scare me for the rest of my life (that is what my OCD brain said would happen)

Articulate and poignant. Thank you for sharing your struggle. When I was in college I had a unit mate who was bulimic. I didn’t even know the name for her regularly scheduled purges. She was popular and I wasn’t and I never imagined she needed help. Your artwork in this video is delightful—it reminds me of a sun catcher. You are a person of worth—God made you. I found your channel when I was looking for computer adventure game review “The Last Express.”

Hmm. “Big as a house.” I see it. I think this is more about composition than “being thin.” Listening to you, it really sounds like Münchausen / Factitious Disorder is in full force, possibly even now. Listening and looking at you, it doesn’t seem like you’re out of the woods yet, though I’m sure you would disagree. Hopefully you can come through it.
