In 2008, the Angry Video Game Nerd and the Nostalgia Critic went to war. The battle came to a head at Digital Press Video Games, with Captain S caught in the crossfire. This is the real story.
Well, not really… James Rolfe and Doug Walker talk about the entire feud in their own words, joined by Captain S and the Digital Press staff / fans who were there during the famous in-person battle. Plus, that original famous photo gets retaken at Galloping Ghost Arcade at the end.
Starring James Rolfe, Doug Walker, and Brett Vanderbrook

Its great that the pictures are full of the classic background virgin nerds back when they were happy and didn't become militarized

This was a very entertaining documentary/mockumentary. It's so niche. I love it. This era of internet content was when I didn't have to worry about bills…

I was 21 years old when this epic feud started, man how time flies! It was so cool to see the ins and outs on how they set everything up and Doug's comparison to the feud being like Godzilla is perfect lol. I still vaguely remembered Caption S too

It feels ironic now, but I first heard about AVGN in Irate Gamers comment section. That guy got so much hate— it’s genuinely cool to know that James never piled on, and actually reached out.

18 years. Jesus, man. I was 14 almost 15 when this happened and by god, AVGN and Nostalgia Critic kept a very awkward highschooler entertained. I genuinely hope this type of stuff, the evolution of entertainment in the internet era, is taught throughout history.

Man, that bit about the tie had me laughing. The stupidest thing, I HAD to learn how to tie a necktie for my grocery store job as a teenager because we had a uniform with a green vest, a dress shirt, necktie. That same store now just has green polo shirts, no tie. Only tied a necktie once after quitting that job for my cousin’s wedding.

Man, I knew this video would make me emotional before I even watched it, but whew! That was one hell of a trip down memory lane. I remember ALL of those clips man, what a time to be alive. The Nerd/Critic fued is legendary and will remain so for all time. I miss these days, and this little retrospective put a smile on my face, thanks James and Doug 🥲
