Net neutrality, such as it is, is what is saving us at the moment.
All of the major media is owned by six corporations/people. They boycotted Trump's media ban because it suited them. It changes nothing of consequence. The left can cheer, the right can grind their teeth, and the neoliberal fleecing of America keeps rolling.
When all the networks, left and right, call for universal healthcare, universal legal representation, and end to imperialism, and a tax system that eliminated billionaires I will believe there is a change.

The American premise that "press holds the government accountable" is completely idiotic. In civilized countries, we have something called "the People" who holds the government accountable. Then we have some other useful thing, called "written laws". Those come in handy whenever we want to pin-point what rule/law the government broke.
You don't have those, that's why in America no one can establish whether what Trump does is legal or illegal. All you have is a diversity of personal opinions of some overrated citizens who are cosplaying as "judges".

I'm just worried trump will get his lackies at the FCC to revoke television licenses BECAUSE those major networks HAVE news networks. Trump doesn't want ANY news being reported, he wants a "pristine" record to convince the American public to reelect him again (which, say it with me folks, HE IS LEGALLY NOT ALLOWED TO RUN AGAIN) or to rewrite history to say he always did a good job. Every single one of his appointees that were complict under his rule need to be thrown in jail as soon as he is evicted from the white house. We are entering a dangerous period of American history where we could have a government very similar to the current government of the "Republic" of China.

Its not hope that the constitutional republic based on free speech and general freedom of everyone will survive and even thrive after Authoritatianism's defeat, the pre-amble, structure, and decleration will survive, and abandon Trump making power grabs like his even harder to commit. Those odds are 100%
The question is how much land and power will Trumps thiefdom capture as it leaves the republic, will they be splintered and spread through out the land or concitrate in the bible belt, how violent will they be, how many resources will Trump have left them to operate in?

Maybe I don't understand what a psy op is because I thought it was shit like every commercial ever and anything dumping on natural because you have to buy the science backed lotion, you know. A psy op is trump convincing people he isn't a biggot while being publicly misogynist and publicly saying what the big bill was while simultaneously convincing people he was going to save them money. A psy op is not banning press in hopes of getting them to say what you want. It's letting them all in, then convincing them of a lie while using the truth.

For every nation we can identify a set of the most common traits that come from the mentality, culture and education if its individuals. For Americans, the traits that are common to almost all individuals are ignorance, arrogance and shamelessness. Basically, these traits give the very definition of an American: a shameless arrogant ignorant person.
Given these facts, all the problems that Americans complain about make a very good comedy show…
Precedents? Traditions?? Recommendations?? Ha ha ha!… Anyway… Have you tried using actual written laws? Oh, wait, America doesn't have such socialist and communist things.

Rounding up journalists and killing them is far less effective in modern times than scaring them into compliance. Show them that you are serious about access denial if they don't play ball and many of them will. It doesn't have to be all. I'm told that "only" 35% of the country at max is supportive of trump. (I think that figure is about 10% higher but whatever) and trump is still able to do things easily and freely that in a true democracy with legitimate checks and balances and only a third of the country supporting you would be very difficult if not near impossible to do.
