I Am Both | Intersex People: Born Between Male and Female | ENDEVR Documentary
‘Hermaphrodite’ is a word used to describe Phoebe, a woman with male chromosomes. Wherever possible, Phoebe actively seeks to disrupt the cataloging with as much honesty and humour as she can. In her film ‘Orchids’, she comes clean about her journey of self-discovery to embrace her future and reconcile the past shame and family secrecy surrounding her intersex condition. Despite her mother’s refusal to be in the film, Phoebe hits the road…
This documentary originally aired in 2010.

This film is 16 years old and very outdated. No one is both. People with DSDs are either male or female. There is no third sex. These are real medical conditions that come with other problems besides defects in the reproductive system. They are not others. Not special. Just regular people with a medical disorder trying to do the best they can in this world.

Intersex is an umbrella term for many birth defects & this is a very very rare condition .

Your parents wanted you to pursue a greater cause than chase your identity because you're who you're already..

This documentary has really educated me about intersex people and I have so much respect for anyone who lives with this condition and also able to open up about it. Kudos to all the people who where brave enough to speak and educate us
