It's probably good they cut out most of the god interactions. It always did strain credulity a bit that a literal god could fly down on a rainbow and be like "Odytheuth! (they'd have a lisp probably) You mutht thail Eatht and offer a thacrifithe to Dionythuth or whatever. Make hathte! And whatever you do, don't thail Wetht. There'th thothe spiketh that pop your tireth if you go the wrong way out of a parking garage, but for boatth!" And Odysseus is always like "i bet there's some pretty good ocean over West. I'd hate to have to come all the way back to see it"

While I enjoyed this skit as much as I ever do – which is a lot! – I think it bears mentioning that The Odyssey is the best movie I've seen in years. Ryan is scraping the bottom of the barrel to find these nitpicks.
Go see it. It's amazing.

Damn this was hard to watch, I had to stop halfway but not because of the actual movie or anything but Ryan himself. What used to be genuinely funny, subtle humour before has been turned – like most other things – into slop for the masses because it got too popular and now he thinks that funny = big, theatrical overacting and Jim Carryesque levels of clowning around but not in a good way. RIP another good channel that went the way of CinemaSins.

This was a very pretty looking movie, but it was not the Odyssey. This was Christopher Nolan's Odyssey, an almost completely different story with completely different characters going through the same plot beats. Also Nolan should not be allowed to write dialogue.

The best part about that story is when Ulysses use his lightsaber to get outside the vortex between Scylla and Charybdis while Telemachus is dealing with a evil robot

This pitch meeting had more thought insight plot development and character measure than Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas put in the whole development of the odyssey. everything from Matt Damon's King Odysseus being the worst leader since George Custer to the stupid trojan horse design must have been thought about by being high and wobbly on feet. None of the main characters were even likable or heroic in any way!! Robert Pattinson sounding like a New York Guido tormenting Tom Holland's daddy coming back whining yutz. Not to mention Anne frozen Botox face Hathaway not even being able to cry or emit any emotion. Of course, cannot forgot Ellen not calling her a male name page being in the film for about two minutes overall. First getting impaled at the very beginning and then being slimed in hades. Congratulations Christopher Nolan for even the feminist whose translation you adapted this from hated your film. Thank you, Ptich meeting, for proving as long as the director is popular studios will greenlight any trash idea to be made and then ridiculed!!

To be honest, just because Nolan directed this movie, it got a bit overrated. No doubt the direction and cinematography was good but after all some of the stuff was just okay .
