Reading Other People’s Yearbooks from the 80s!

My godfather who’s 72, still has his high school yearbook from 1969, he was a teenager during the psychedelic ‘60’s, he hung out with the hippies, he never did the drugs but he did believe in their peace and love philosophy, he almost attended Woodstock but his parents wouldn’t allow him to go, however he did see some great artists during the 60’s, one of which being the late great Jimi Hendrix in May of 1969 at the Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto

Interesting. But, wow, some of those yearbooks were so small they looked like concert souvenir books. We had so many kids in our school our yearbook looked more like a telephone book!

Our high school valued fine arts and band was a respectable activity, lol! I personally thought the drumline were cooler than sax players. Band kids were regularly voted onto the Homecoming Courts and prom royalty. I know, very unusual for a high school in Texas! 😊
