More Perfect Union is an Emmy-winning, nonprofit newsroom whose mission is to build power for working people. Here’s what that means: We report on the real struggles and challenges of the working class from a working-class perspective. We attempt to connect those problems to potential solutions. We report on the abuses and wrongdoing of corporate power. And we seek to hold accountable the ultra-rich who have too much power over America’s political and economic systems.

I got out of the army in 2006, back then I was told that my feelings towards society and our government as an American citizen we're on the fringe, and that I was just a crazy paranoid combat veteran. And so I watched for the past 20 years, this sprawling, unaccountable machine adapt, survive, and systematically liquidate the working class becoming exactly what I told people it is. Now finally, the masses are starting to come to grips with a reality that I have been living in since coming home from war the first time 20+ years ago. We are up against an apparatus that absorbs massive systemic shocks and turns them into wealth transfers, entirely detached from the righteous democratic theater it sells us. But if we actually want real, generational change, we cannot simply rely on fragmented outrage or wait for a sudden collapse. The beast doesn't die from disorganized revolt; historically, lasting reform requires the disciplined, strategic action that the apex institutions pray we are too exhausted to organize. We are fighting a public private merger that thrives on division and isolation. To dismantle it, we must commit to Strategic Civil Mobilization. History and data prove that nonviolent, broad based movements spanning all demographics are significantly more effective at achieving systemic change than decentralized chaos. We have to stop retreating into cynical echo chambers and start building diverse, disciplined coalitions focused on clear, achievable policy goals rather than abstract resistance. True resilience against this modern techno totalitarianism comes from starving the machine of its centralized fuel through Decentralization and Local Governance. We cannot simply fight a global surveillance state from the top down; we have to outmaneuver it at the bottom. We need to disperse power locally by focusing intensely on municipal policies, taking active, unyielding roles in our school boards, moving our capital out of apex banks and into community credit unions, and fiercely supporting independent regional commerce. Bottom up self reliance is the only practical armor that insulates our communities from top down economic control and predatory mechanisms like bank bail ins. To keep that localized power intact, we must aggressively enforce Institutional Safeguards. Executive authority and corporate monopolies thrive in deliberate obscurity. We have to demand absolute statutory transparency, weaponizing freedom of information laws, forcing open rigorous public audits, and heavily funding decentralized, independent media. Real progress against this bureaucratic monster is not a sudden, romantic revolution. It is built through the patient, gritty, unglamorous work of local coalition building and active civic participation right in the communities where we live, ensuring our children never have to answer the call to feed a machine that learns nothing from the past.

With AI, yeah the threat to basic essentials is massive. But people are not thinking about the larger threat down the line. Most AI & data centers have integrated “Dual Use” with our military/policing/defense contracts. Mass Surveillance & Eminent Domain…THIS is the existential issue! This allows govt to OVERRIDE votes and citizens to “have a say” about their local areas, while stealing land, water, & power under the guise of “National Security” THEN no one will be able to regulate, enforce, or rollback anything related to data & AI. People need to wtfu now! Keep fighting & don’t give an inch. ANYTHING being subsidized locally under NDAs is going to be used AGAINST “WE the People” & NOT to benefit US!

What? It's the landlords property. He can rent it however he sees fit. You do this kind of thing and the landlord will just stop renting. That has already been proven in multiple large cities trying to implement rent control.
