The Rise and Fall (and Rise Again?) of Thrash Metal
It’s a classic East Coast and West Coast battle, this time for thrash supremacy. Two scenes, two different sounds, one style. Told by the ones who lived it, this is how both those scenes took shape and the influence spread around the world!

8:44 All the evil comes from the left! …national socialism IS, in fact, left…, not much different from communism!
Nothing cool in being left. It's just not knowing politics and history… or simply being stupid. Mille is a prime example…, at least for the second.

Lots of Misfits and SNFU in that early Metallica vibe.

When "Puppets" got radio play, then "One" gets a Grammy nomination. I was over Metallica. The black album just solidified what we already knew. They'd become mainstream. Just glad I got to live through the heyday. Saw them twice during the Puppets tour. Opening for Ozzy.
Seems like another lifetime.
Peace

I was 14 years old when "Master of Puppets" came out. It was a great time to be alive. I'm so lucky to have grown up during that time.

Dave is Jewish and yet had the heart of steel to pull off Holy Wars…The Punishment Due.
That song along with One by Metallica , War Ensemble by Slayer , Bombenhagel by Sodom , Territory by Sepultura and Fabulous Disaster by Exodus will always keep Thrash Metal in peak.Timeless.
