These REAL James Webb Images of Jupiter Are So Wild, People Think They’re CGI

Fexl | September 7, 2026

Webb wasn’t built for our solar system. It was built for deep space. But when it looked at Neptune, the planet came back white, not blue, with rings nobody had seen clearly since 1989. Saturn went dark. Jupiter had hidden structures above the Great Red Spot. Enceladus was blasting water the distance from New York to Tokyo into space. Europa had carbon from its own ocean sitting on the surface.

Every image we had before 2022 was real. It just wasn’t the whole picture.

atmospheric gravity waves? atmospheric waves, no gravity, all atmospheric waves are affected by gravity it doent need to be said, and is deeply incorrect. Only LIGO has recorded gravity waves and they werent from little clouds they were merging black holes, if youre going to let an LLM write the script, you have to look out for hallucinations

@fexl don’t seam to understand that an image taken by a camera operating “beyond visual range” of the human eye would not look like much to the human eye.
What we are looking here is a computer algorithm translating a spectrum of light into a spectrum that our eyes and brain can understand.
The planets did not change!!! Saturn is still yellow and Neptune is blue but they also reflect light our eyes can’t see. If we translate that light into something we can see it’s not the same we see… that should be obvious…

Says finding the new moon around Uranus was totally, gobsmackingly, hair-on-fire unexpected then says how it is expected that increasingly more precise observations tend to find new things.

They would never have launched the JWST if they thought it wasn't going to turn up anything new.

While JWST can examine Jupiter in better detail than Hubble, Galileo and Juno orbited Jupiter for years returning far more detail than JWST can manage.
