Hey Tom, I'm a big fan of your work. Quick historical note on terminology: Lenin didn't coin the word 'socialism'—it dates back to 1830s French and British thinkers like Pierre Leroux and Robert Owen. What Lenin did do in 1917 (The State and Revolution) was formally label Marx’s 'lower stage of communism' as 'socialism' to define the transitional state toward full communism. I only post this because I know you care about the accuracy of your mental model.

People are making a serious mistake regarding AI. The majority get it wrong somewhere around 99% of the time, and they are wrong about AI. I remember in college, when I volunteered to take an IQ test, and the psychology department contacted me. They said that we haven't had anyone score this high, and asked if they could test me more. I wasn't flattered by this nor did I believe the concept of IQ was really about "intelligence", because intelligence can be defined a litany of ways, and an IQ score isn't necessarily applicable to real world results. Moreover, there are different types of intelligence (cognitive skill sets), and so it clearly can't be defined linearly by an overall score. The scoring weights they apply to different skill sets is subjective. So I just shrugged my shoulders, and ignored it. Only when I saw the absolute stupidity of the climate hoax, and COVID, among others, did I think there is definitely something to these tests. In my opinion, it doesn't mean the tests prove I'm more intelligent when it isn't clearly defined. Moreover, various cognitive skill sets are beneficial in some environments/applications, but can cause underachievement in others. But it at least means, good or bad, that I think differently than the vast majority of people.

I was constantly telling people on the Internet that they were being misled about the severity of the COVID disease, and subsequently that they were being misled about the vaccine, and misled about the shutdowns, masks, social distancing, etc, and nobody heard me. I even said it was child abuse to give this vaccine to your children. I was eventually proven correct about everything. After reading a couple of thousand pages of studies, and several books, carefully exploring both sides of the climate debate, I tried warning people about the anthropomorphic global warming hoax, but no one heard me. If I now elaborate on the AI mistake people are now making, no one will hear me.

The only AI regulation that should exist, is a law stating that AI cannot be regulated. You are being misled. Private cooperations like Anthropic are spreading hyperbole and outright lies about AI dangers because they want regulatory capture. Larger cooperations can more easily afford regulations, and without regulatory capture, hundreds of startups will eventually catch up to the performance of Anthropic, and Anthropic will be just one of many, and not a company worth tens of billions or hundreds of billions of dollars. Some government officials want to control AI so that they have this power, not you, or want to regulate AI so that they can apply control over its speech, and they can constitutionally do this. Trust me, you don't want your government to have more power over you, and more power over information, than they already have.

The elites use fear to manipulate the common person, to gain more power, or to take from the commoner; assets, cash, freedoms, etc. This has happened repeatedly throughout history. The revolutionary power of AI belongs to all of us, not only profiteers who want to capture and gain wealth from it, or to governments who want to control our access to information and have it narrate political or psyop narratives as if it was the truth. I wish the public wouldn't fall for these tricks again, but they will, because they always do.

Tom, please be serious,: the democrats want to destroy America because they want to pack the court? Trumpers don’t even fucking like America, they hate the constitution, flaunt the laws, put pressure on the courts, fill every institution with sycophants, violate 4th amendment rights, some want to abolish the 19th, gerrymander districts, love the evil, POS citizens United act. They hate the American culture of welcoming immigrants, (and I don’t mean porous illegal immigration), hate freedom of the press and the first amendment.

If you frame this situation as the Dems being the ones who want to “destroy America”, I just don’t think you’re paying attention or you’re being entirely disingenuous.
