My dad had about 100 head in Kansas Hill country on 480 acres. He fed his cows hay off his truck in the winter and anytime of year he could pull into a pasture, drive to the top of a hill and honk his horn . You could see the cows coming from far away start to mosey on their way. Dad would count them as they came in for their hay. Love your creation!

They should always have access to some nice, deep shade in the summer. Looks like they were willing to break out. to get out of the sun. Cattle get hot ,too.

If they stampeded, you need to ask why? A predator maybe? Also one day you are asking them to follow you like little lambs, the next day, you're wanting them to be scared and you're herding them. If you'd gotten a bucket of alfalfa and put them near the yard you want them, and hung around for awhile, fixing the fence, they would have come and investigated what you were doing. None of the drama required

I'm sure that the "mustering" video made for popular You Tube content, but considering there is a permanent boundary fence and only one water source available, I'm sure they would have put themselves back when they were thirsty, and you could have just closed the gate on them.
I would not have run them like that either. Walking is much better for so many reasons.

I really enjoy your cattle videos. You are much more paient then me lol. It would drive me crazy though if my cattle got out as much as yours do. They do not respect the fence at all. Need some permanent fencing.
