The Terrifying Final Days Of Grizzly Man | Last Days
In 2003, naturalist Timothy Treadwell and his girlfriend, Amie Huguenard were attacked and killed by a thousand pound grizzly in Alaska’s Katmai National Park. Their deaths, which became the subject of Werner Herzog’s 2005 documentary Grizzly Man, were certainly tragic, but Treadwell’s contempt for the rules of the park and determination to have up-close interactions with the wild animals made them far from unpredictable.
LAST DAYS is Weird History’s prestige format series focusing on final chapters, deaths, downfalls and conclusions. In this episode, we examine what happened during Timothy Treadwell and Amie Huguenard’s final days and how those events would lead to one the most disturbing and haunting incidents in the history of Katmai National Park.

In some ways, it reminds me of Steve Irwin, the crocodile Hunter. Doing a lot of the work he did chasing alligators and such than to be taken out by a stingray. These kind of jobs that they do are very dangerous even in the best of circumstances, you can’t always be best buds with a creature that’s meant to be wild. They both ended up paying the ultimate sacrifice for their love of nature and animals.

This guy not only was a danger to those people who believed his nonsense about bears being "his friends" but a danger to the bears themselves. By showing such reckless behaviors around bears it would make people think they could interact with them as well and when those bears act like well bears guess who gets put down for "the safety of the community"

My Mum told me a story about how she had a run in with a black bear one time when she was a kid, and that was terrifying enough. And black bears are more afraid of us than we are of them. So, to purposely bother GRIZZLY BEARS is absolutely baffling to me.

I carry a Ruger Model 5028 .44 magnum, "Kodiak Backpacker", out here in Montana when I'm in grizzly woods. Gee, wonder how it got that name…….. Shit, going into Bob Marshall Wilderness I triple up, bear spray, Glock 20, and Ruger 5028. My shorthair pointer always on the lead.
