I Talked To 50 Dads At The Eras Tour

92.9 The Torch | August 24, 2026

Back in 2023, Paul spent multiple days and nights outside the Eras Tour in Los Angeles getting to know a group of Taylor Swift fans that are rarely talked about… Swiftie Dads.

We’re trying something new with this! Let us know what you think in the comments.

My late father actually bought my eras tour tickets for me and my sister to go the show night one in Pittsburgh.
It was getting closer and closer to the show date and I still couldn’t get tickets. I missed a few drops, and I didn’t win against ticket master at all.
I was FaceTimeing my dad while making bracelets, and he just kept watching me go on and on about the songs, the show, the letter beads and the colors of the beads…
I told him I was even desperate enough to buy the tickets for an overpriced amount and put it on Afterpay. 😂 he was never one to use credit cards or credit lines, so I guess that showed how desperate I was to go?😂
Long story short, my sister and I had been fans of her since my sister was about 15 and I was 12 in 2006. I was never able to go to any of these shows because we were never able to afford to growing up.

My dad asked next time I saw him “Does it really mean that much to you?” I was like “yes it’s my dream, it’s every show I’ve ever missed in some way. It’s with my sister, she started my love of Taylor. She needs a night to herself after having kids etc.”
he looked at me and pulled out $700 in cash, and told me to buy the overpriced tickets and use that towards my credit payment if I really wanted to buy them that much because he wanted to do something that he was never able to do.

I’ll never forget the eras tour. And I’ll never forget how I got there, and who I spent it with. All thanks to my dad- he wasn’t a swiftie, but he did like songs I played, especially the song evermore.
Miss you dad, you have no idea how much getting us to the eras tour meant to us. ❤

This reminds me of the time my dad drove me into the city to meet some friends on my borthday and he waited in the car for me. And when I came back, a little later than I was supposed to, he didn't get mad. He just asked if I had fun. I had no idea he was going tonwait in the car. I thought he'd go to the mall or take a walk or something. It really meant a lot to me.
