ZZ Top’s Frank Beard Dead at 77
Frank Beard, ZZ Top’s drummer since 1969, died Monday, August 17, at his ranch in Richmond, Texas. He was 77. The band’s publicist confirmed he was in hospice care with his family at his side. No cause of death has been released.
His death comes less than two weeks after ZZ Top killed its Hollywood Bowl tour opener hours before doors, with Billy Gibbons citing only “insurmountable obstacles.” The band never said Beard’s name, and never said what was wrong.

Made it to 77 years living a good famous life in a popular band. He lived the life of 100 men. We all got to go sometime, and he lived a long life. Kudos.

Dang it. Sad to remember father time beats all of us in the, end. Man, Those guys still get me so hyped. I remember the first time I heard legs , I was around 11 years old. That sick synth rhythm sucked me in and never let me go. Rest in peace guy.
