    The show is still shown 5 nights a week, multiple episodes each night where I live. If nothing else interesting is on we watch X-Files, you might be surprised how many times we haven’t seen a particular episode, or don’t remember watching it.

    Graphic designer here. If the last line ends up being just one word? It’s called an orphan. Same principle though. We will do a force return to make sure the last line is at least two words for that very reason.

    It's always a clown show when people who pursue acting which is literally displaying yourself in front of people through movies or TV or otherwise say they hate Fame when that is the goal is to perform and obtain Fame

    You want an older but still lovely actress who projects profound intelligence, toughness, cleverness and also a wicked sense of humor? This is your slam dunk.

    BTW I cannot buy that she and Duchovny by the end really disliked each other. She nearly pees herself laughing in interviews with the guy.

    It still baffles me, if she’s either managed the greatest job ever of getting work done & not overdoing it, OR if she just so happens to be aging ridiculously well. Same for Jennifer Connelly! If they’re doing Botox & surgeries they must have thee greatest, most subtly capable doctors performing them.

    I was born in 93 and my dad let me watch the X-Files with him when I was probably four or five. I became obsessed with it in my teens. The “Scully effect” is very real – I became a scientist in part because of that role model. Love her, Chris Carter, Vince Gilligan and the entire team.

    I started watching X-Files when it premiered Sept. 10, 1993. The first five seasons(series) were probably the best. Some of the best episodes include “Humbug” “War of the Coprophages” “Home” and my favorite “Clyde Bruckman’s Final Repose.” Still one of my all time favorite tv shows.

    I'm glad Anderson recognized that Scully was too young to be both a MD and FBI agent. I'm 2 months older than her and it did bug me back when X-Files was first run as I worked my entry level job. 😆

    "Widows" was a term we used in graphic design, doing body copy. It's not so much the line was broken, but you could never leave just one or two words at the end of a paragraph.

    In graphic design and typography, a 'WIDOW' refers to a situation where, with multiple lines of text, a word or two are naturally left dangling underneath an otherwise tidy visual block of type. Like the space between words and letters, it's an unsightly side-effect of characters that, for a graphic designer (Chris was trained in graphic design), can be easily corrected with a tiny rewrite, a very slight change of font size, and other minor justification tweaks.

    Hi guys. In typography and printing, a widow is the last line of a paragraph stranded alone at the top of a new page or column. An orphan is the first line of a paragraph left stranded alone at the bottom of a page or column. Both disrupt reading flow and signal unprofessional layout.
