Apollo 11 Is Still on the Moon… But Something Is Happening to It

Fexl | August 17, 2026

Why can’t our most powerful telescopes see the Apollo 11 landing site? Here is the real physics of why Tranquility Base is completely invisible from Earth, what the fading footprints look like today, and the strict new borders protecting humanity’s first campsite.

I remember 1969 , the WHOLE WORLD was watching! EVERY RADAR,EVERY TELESCOPE,EVERY OBSERVATORY! The US and Soviet Union were in “no holds barred” competition. If that ship deviated a millimeter,HALF the world would have screamed “FAKE!”.

I was in 6th grade summer school to watch the entire Apollo 11 mission from launch to recovery. Teacher had wheeled a TV into the room. All that we did was to watch and listen. We even ate lunch in the classroom. I remember the excitement.

The adjective accelerated to describe Artemis is beyond optimistic; it is laughable, sadly.

The juxtaposition of the site deemed culturally significant and worthy of protection and that of the Navajo Dìne proclaiming the moon as sacred, not to be sullied by footprints is humorously curious.

So the exclusion zones forbid private flyovers and landings now that that might actually become a thing.

Sounds like NASA setting up the future narrative for if people finally find a way through four hours of constant x-Ray, and gamma ray bombardment, only to find nothing up there.

That’s convenient. So the only way to see any of these NASA “landing sites” is with NASA’s pictures taken by NASA’s orbiter. Some would call that controlled information dissemination. I wonder why Musk, and Bezos decided to halt their moon landings? At the very least they could put up new flags.

The video is truly impressive and deeply moving! 🚀 I really love how you explained why even the largest telescopes cannot "see" the Apollo 11 landing site from Earth; the part at [03:49] was such an eye-opener. It’s overwhelming to think that those footprints are still there in the silence of the Moon, even though they are slowly being eroded over time [14:31]. Thank you for providing such profound and engaging scientific insights. I will definitely share this video with my friends! 🌕✨

Kubric's greatest movie… Still no proof that man set foot on the moon… Moonrocks can be found on earth… Even musk with all today's technology, couldn't put a tin can with humans setting foot on the moon… All fakery…. ✨✨✨

Either you are using an artificial text to speech narration, or you are not pronouncing the Lunar seas names correctly. Apollo 11 landed in Mare Tranquilatum (Sea of Tranquility) pronounced "Marray" as in the latin… NOT MARE as in a female donkey. this is really annoying, as it gives people who do not know any better the wrong information. IDK why you cannot use your own voice to narrate. It is both annoying and frustrating,

Funny ALL these countries sent drones to the moon and still haven't seen a pic of the lunar lander. Wow all the mumbo jumbo reasons why they can't show the evidence NASA landed there. Hmmmm🤔. Look at the thumbnail the lem is still attached to the base. Who took the Pic the command module? Maybe the cameraman that filmed the lem leaving the moon and panned up and he's still there waiting to be pick-up?😮

they faked it. its obvious. 55 years later they cant do it. artemis is failing again and again. after 10 years maximum they manage is to circumvent moon once.
nobody on earth still can do it , with 55 years better tech. let that sink in

The LROC has a claimed resolution of 0.5 metres.
Not sure what Clementine was capable of as it's still classified, but the only reason to not release the images is to hide something (and I absolutely accept the Apollo landings as the culmination of years and years of hard work by tens of thousands of people, but it's a shame it went nowhere)

Elon could build a drone that (flies) from landing site to landing site using pocket change. Ironically, that would require an amount of fuel needed for multiple manned round trips.

14:09 … bad graphic. It looks nice, but it's wrong. Apart from the Earth spinning like a top (we all know it takes 24 hours for one rotation), when you're on the moon the earth is always in the same spot of the sky, it's fixed in place. The only way for it move in the lunar sky is for the observer to move to another part of the moon.

Private owned satellite image cos. have sats that can see the shape of a mail box post ( round or square ) or the corrugations of a pickup truck bed easily [ through the atmosphere ] from higher up. Military and NASA has lunar orbiters that can see pebbles but they don't want people realizing that. We are going to see those pics unblurred sooner rather than later. 👀

People, you do know that the video at 00:53 "the swirling dust lanes of a galaxy million miles away" is not real video, that's panning around them faster than the speed of light, IS NOT REAL VIDEO?! Even if the voice narrator is saying so.

I am well aware the fact that he started sounding like the teacher off of Charlie Brown around the 10-minute mark, says more about me than it does this video 😂

The brightest light from the lunar surface is in the near-IR. LRO detects to 750nm. At visible wavelengths the lunar surface is quite dull, ~135 lux as determined from the LOLA instrument.
