Ranking 2026’s Songs of The Summer
Summer 2026! Something something Backrooms Git Genug World Cup Wallace with a fade. Pop music continues to be in a weird place, but that doesn’t mean there were no good songs at all. From Ella Langley and Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift to Bruno Mars, Drake to Tame Impala, I’m ranking the Top 20 songs that defined the summer according to Billboard (and shouting out some songs that deserved to be bigger).

There shouldn't be other #1 pick that isn't the cure by Olivia. But I kinda hate how valid the Sombr one is.
Obviously I disagree hard with stupid song being so low and especially bellow the Morgan ft. But, it's true that as a summer hit it ain't as good. Tho on that note the cure shouldn't be as high, either, and drop dead should be top 5. Also, really love your take on Olivia's 2nd singles cause bad idea, right? is one of my fav songs by her. That combo with all-american btch is top tier.
But anyways, all just to say Homewhrecker is the catchiest song on the entire list. Like, I agree, I AM on the Sombr train as I also really enjoyed Back to Friends and 12 to 12, despite not being completely sold on him. But I thought that train was gone already, till I gave one of his newer songs a chance and I couldn't get it out of my head. Glad this one is the biggest one cause that chorus is hella catchy. I also, for some reason, mix the lyrics and say I don't wanna get down with your lover… yeah my mind is tricky sometimes

Me over here vibin’ on good music and not this over-produced, homogenized crap. Popular music’s been on a downfall since the late 2000s and you all have been loving the same song, reheated

I agree, I wish Drake did something like the old stuff. He's just sauceless nowadays for me to appreciate his post-Kendrick stuff.

Surprised that the Taylor Swift dancing in the lightning song wasn’t there.

I love when I agree with Mic The Snare because it validates my music taste. I also think The Cure is Olivia Rodrigo’s best song yet. It somehow feels sad and depressing while also feeling bold and triumphant.

You should have shouted out Electric Callboy’s “Let the Good Times Roll” – that’s been my personal song of the summer!

This 80s pop throwback sound has lasted longer than the 1980s did. It's surprising anyone still finds it fresh.

sombr is AWESOME idc what anyone says. 12 to 12 and homewrecker are bangers and he has just started his career!!! I'm so excited to see what he comes out with in the future and how he evolves. Not all his songs stuck out or landed with me but it is obvious that he shows great promise.
"Sombr is the future- he does it all on his own, and he doesn't need that AI. The kids will be fine!" – Taylor Swift

35:22 Actually, it's more reminiscent of the 90s, clearly influenced by "Disarm" (Smashing Pumpkins) and "Everlong" (Foo Fighters).
