Hi, I'm the greater than zero. Fast Car came out before I was born. I don't really listen to popular music, but I was introduced to it because Todd talked about it because Luke Combs covered it. And the original is great!

As someone who was incredibly weird about the Luke Combs cover of Fast Car, watching their Grammy’s performance and Luke Combs performing while fanboying actually made me cry and completely changed my feelings on it.

If people deserve awards they should receive them. You talk about Taylor Swift but she is in a class all her own. She wrote and released31 songs while on the greatest tour ever. That is amazing. Her songs reach so many different types of people; they truly are universal. The scope of her music is incredible. Her use of the English language with metaphors, figurative language, word choice cannot be matched. Many people have to do word search to find out the meaning of the words she uses. She incorporates references to places, people, books, characters, mythology, historical events. There are major universities teaching classes in her work. There is some buzz that she might get a Pulitzer for Literature and she has been likened to a present day Shakespeare . She truly is a musical genius. People cannot put her in one genre because on minute she is pop, the next country, the next rap. They say she is Swift genre. If you do not award excellence because it happens too often, then it is like giving a participation trophy to everyone and it lessens the value. Let the best performer win!

"all innocent lives" is probably the most threatening statement i can imagine. saying nothing about the genocide is shitty, that's a goddamn endorsement.

We’re in a fallow period in popular music. That makes Taylor a big fish in a small pond. Or the least worst choice in a pretty sorry bunch. It’s how Elvis got away with lame soundtracks to even lamer movies when he got out of the army

I still don’t understand why so many people love Swift like she’s their mom.

The songwriting is pretty bland, not bad, but bland. Her personality is even bland. I’ve even asked Swifties for some recommendations and I’ve listened, but the songs were all pretty trite.
