Best person you could talk to about Hinduism! I’ve heard hours and hours of Swamiji's talks.

Could we possibly make the analogy that the fundamental reality is “God”, and this entire reality is happening inside God’s mind?

2:40 There are no texts that can be designated as the "root texts" or "fundamentals" of Hinduism as Alex rightly pointed out in the very beginning that Hinduism is an umbrella term. The whole idea of trying to fit Hinduism into a "religion" with "fundamentals" & "root texts" is something inspired or influenced from Abrahamic religions due to the centuries of interactions with them whether positive or negative.

In Hinduism clarity on gods is transformational. Rig Veda is the first scripture in india. The later Vedas do change their stances gradually.

I believe clarity on religion and gods is not at all possible. We can be seekers alone.

The oldest debate was between Jainism and Hinduism. Old Jains were believed to be sort of atheist. Hindus believed in one crore gods.

I have the same question that Alex asked: why doesn't the Brahman just be? Why does it need to "manifest" the way it does? And honestly, Swamiji's answer is not compelling enough that, without this "experience", it would be a "dull" consciousness. When you call it "dull", you are comparing it to something that is not dull. But the comparison will not arise if there's no other manifestation of the "Atman" or "Brahman" that is not "dull".
