In this conversation, Farley talks through what shaped his stripped-back, confessional style before playing “Dreamer” solo — just voice and guitar.
Drayton Farley is an Americana songwriter from Woodstock, Alabama — a small town outside Birmingham where he crafted a confessional, stripped-back sound in the tradition of John Prine and Kris Kristofferson. His 2023 album Twenty on High, produced by Sadler Vaden at Nashville’s Sound Emporium, was his breakthrough, earning him a Grand Ole Opry debut that September and a growing following across the Americana circuit.
