2024 SNL Audition – Julie Nolke
Did I hear you asked for another rejected SNL audition? You got it! …Why do I continue auditioning for a show that clearly doesn’t want me you may be wondering? Guess I’m a glutton for punishment… also now you all get to enjoy my failed attempt at impressing Lorne.
Criteria for an SNL audition tape:
Has to be under 5 minutes
Has to show off your writing ability
Has to show original characters
Has to show as many impressions as possible

I suspect, given how SNL tends to work, they'd pigeon-hole you into pretty much the same space Chloe Fineman has currently and she struggles enough for screen time most weeks as it is. Fun reel though.

SNL would lowkey be a downgrade for Julie. It’s an irrelevant show that makes maybe one funny sketch a week whereas Julie gets me to laugh in every video. Germany in WW3 had me DYING laughing

Insaaane to me talented people like you don't get cast. No shade to who does get cast but I've almost never heard of them. Maybe they don't want people who already have a lot of fans so they're easier to treat/pay as they want.

I thought they were all really good. Definitely better than some of the skits I've seen. But unless you're trying to get into the writers room, they're going to want to see some live stuff.

I’m 74, so I clearly remember SNL at the beginning. SNL hasn’t been funny for at least 15-20 years. Don’t waste your time and creative energy. Once it was the pinnacle of comedy. No more.
